Welcome to our improvised recital previewing site!
Thank you for extending your patience and flexibility with us as we continue to strive to provide a well-rounded and successful piano experience for your student! Our hope is that we will still be able to have lesson and that we will still have a recital... Which is why you are here! Please read the directions below thoroughly before you begin listening to music.
1ST: Know your student's level Please follow the link to my chart below that indicates students by last name with their piano level and a box of any specific notes for a student if that is needed and then a few columns where you can list songs they would like to learn. (Keeping in mind that we fight to have no duplicates at a recital so they might not get their top pick of song as we distribute music to 35 students... but we might encourage them to learn the music for fun.)
2ND: Find your YouTube playlist link Once you have found your student's name and read any specific information regarding what they should look at on my chart... Scroll back up to my "Playlist Links". I have compiled music for the following levels: Primer Pre-Reading, Primer Note Reading, Level 1, Level 2A, Level 2B, Levels 3&4, Specifically Duets. You should be able to click on the YouTube link that is appropriate to your student's level and be redirected to an entire playlist of songs that you can listen to and choose from.
3RD: What can they pick? It was explained to my students that there are 2 categories of music that they are picking from (one from each for the recital is the goal)... Category 1 is music they know (movie, radio, tv) and category 2 is world music (classical, hymns, or specifically written for piano). Please, as you pick out 3-5 songs that your child would be interested in learning, check the information on the video. It will say "Category 1" or "Category 2".
4TH: Write down that info! On the document linked below with your student's information, write down 3-5 songs that your child has expressed interest in learning and I will take that into consideration. Please give me the full name that is seen on the YouTube video so that I can make sure to find the music in my books.
I will compile a master list of student interests on my website and then I will send out photos of songs your child will be able to work on during quarantine. It is going to take a considerable amount of work to get everyone music after already putting in between 12-14 hours of work just to set all of this up. So please please please email me with song interests ASAP so I can start doing the work to get everyone set up. Thank you!
